You live in an amazing but uncertain world. There are dangers everywhere and no matter how hard you try, you cannot avoid them all. What you CAN do is prepare so you are able to step up when bad things happen to keep yourself, your family, and your loved ones alive until help arrives. Major bleeding can happen without warning – from acts of terrorism, active shooter situations, and acts of violence, to motor vehicle accidents, home accidents, or general injuries.

Rule #1 – Bleeding Kills.

Rule #2 – I will help you change Rule #1.

Victims of serious uncontrolled bleeding can die within minutes if nothing is done to control that bleed. Many people rely on emergency services (police, fire, and EMS) to get there in time but in reality, no matter how quickly they drive their response will take time. When you are bleeding, time is one thing you can’t really spare.

No matter how quickly professional emergency workers respond, bystanders will always be the first on scene. With a little training and the right equipment, you can will be able to control most serious bleeding injuries. This gives you time to get to safety or hold out until help arrives. Immediate action can mean the difference between life and death.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the course start? How long does it take?
The course starts now and never ends! It is a completely self-paced online course - you decide when you start and when you finish. The course takes less than 1 hour to complete.
Who is this course for?
Everyone! Okay now that the easy answer is out of the way, this course is intended for the general public aka those with little or no medical background and training. When something bad happens, you will be there long before professional emergency responders. Examples include teachers, parents, business owners, retail, cashiers, food services, office workers, outdoor enthusiasts, and just about anything else you can think of. We all need to know how to stop bleeding and save lives.
What if I am unhappy with the course?
We would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact us in the first 30 days and we will give you a full refund.
Did you say certification?
Yes. Upon successful completion of this course and the assessment at the end (70% or higher), you will receive a digital certification letter which you can print or download, showing you successfully completed the training. If you would prefer a paper certification be mailed to you, just shoot us an e-mail after you finish the training.
RE-certification?
We recommend students complete training in bleeding control (as well as First Aid, CPR, etc) every 2 years. Luckily, most people don’t have to do these things often which means your brain will get filled with a lot of other cool stuff in 2 years. A quick refresher is always good to brush up on these life-saving skills.
Do I need to buy a Bleeding Control kit?
Making a tourniquet with your belt looks cool on TV but rarely works in real life. I highly suggest you purchase a bleeding control kit (including tourniquet) if you don’t already have one. You can make your own but some of the components can be difficult to find individually so a kit is the easy answer. I’ll share some resources (and maybe even discounts) in the course so you can get what you need.
I thought Bleeding Control classes were all in-person?
They use to be – but who has time for that? Okay, hopefully you do have time for that because it’s important and live classes where you get to do hands-on training with this equipment is very beneficial. That said, you may not have time right now or there may not be a class available near you. I created this online course to supplement (not replace) the live training version.

I look forward to working with you through this program and sharing the skills I've learned as a paramedic and teacher so you are empowered to save a life.
